The Story Behind Noëva

For twelve years, I ran a successful upholstery business in the Netherlands.
And yet, in the final years, I felt myself slowly losing my love for the craft.

At least, that’s what I thought.

Now I know that I hadn’t lost my love for upholstery.
I had lost my love for the Netherlands.

We moved to Spain, and there I began to feel completely alive again.
Until a project eventually brought us to Costa Rica, to Uvita.

By now, we have found here what we couldn’t find even in Spain.
And somewhere along the way, something else was born again: my love for upholstery.

All of this comes together in Noëva.

The name is a blend of Noëlle and Nova, and to me, it represents a new beginning.
A rebirth of my love for the craft.
A new life here in Costa Rica.
And the rebirth of furniture that deserves to stay.

Noëva was born from starting over, without leaving behind what was worth keeping.
